Cross Sparks is a new website dedicated to the Creative Arts. It aims to become a platform for resources that encourage engagement with the Christian Faith.
It is also the home of the Cross Sparks Film Co-operative; a collection of actors, writers and film makers keen to use this medium for mission and evangelism, education and social inclusion.
The Rule Breaker
This is the first project that Cross Sparks have developed. The film started life as a stage production written by Mandy Carr and performed by the Paddock Wood Deanery Players. The script was then adapted and more local actors were recruited. David Doré, from Silk Purse Films, with the assistance of Chris Tizzard and Derek Goodwin, worked on bringing the screenplay to life. The film was completed in the Autumn of 2013 with a Premiere for cast and crew in December at the Kino Digital Cinema in Hawkhurst.
The Rule Breaker venture is a local, charitable, community project with every one contributing their time and skills free of charge. DVDs are available for order through this website at a price of £7 each + P&P. The profits from these sales will go to the Hospice in the Weald, in Pembury, Kent.
The film is also available to stream from this website. We will not put a pay to view condition on the site but as Cross Sparks Film Co-op have made this film with the intention that the Hospice in the Weald would directly benefit from it, we would strongly encourage those who wish to view it to give a donation through ‘Just Giving’.
The film is particularly suitable for use with year six of primary school, in secondary schools, churches and home groups. Each story can be used separately through the chapter facility of the DVD alongside the study material which is available for download from this website. Resource materials are available on this site, which will be very helpful in providing a teaching and learning tool for ethics, PHSE, Philosophy and R.E.
